Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai was established in 1979.

has a rich tradition and cultural heritage.Being the third major teaching general hospital established by the Tamilnadu Government, Kilpauk Medical College & Hospital premises were set up in 1960 on both sides of Poonamallee High Road ( E.V.R. Saalai).

The College has a humble origin from what was then home to the Government School of Indian Medicine (Including Siddha and Ayurveda branches) when it was established in 1925, its Principal the legendary Dr. G. Srinivasa Murti.

The school became a college in 1957 and now functions in Anna Nagar.
