Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines (Dist. Ludhiana) was established on 6th July 1958 but came into existence in 1907 and managed by Khalsa Dewan Charitable Society (R).

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Panjab University, Chandigarh and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 13th March 1978 & 12(B) on 30th March 1978 under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A+" Grade (in 1st Cycle) on 4th November 2004.

The aim of the college was giving admission to girls of all communities and is leaping across all frontiers and boundaries, creating milestones in every realm, be it academic or para-academic also promise to gift the country a promising young generation.

It was a woman self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Ludhiana played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

Khalsa College for Women – materialized in the academically historic year 1907, when like-minded visionaries took it upon themselves to educate the womenfolk in society.

Continuing this journey of imparting education selflessly, the Malwa High School came into existence, the foundation stone of which was laid down by the towering personality Sant Attar Singh Ji of Mastuana.

The maiden institution of Malwa High School has flowered into 5 full-fledged independent institutions namely:

• Malwa Khalsa Senior Secondary School for Boys
• Malwa Senior Secondary School for Girls
• Malwa Central College of Education
• Khalsa College for Women
• Khalsa Institute of Management and Technology

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Panjab University, Chandigarh.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Management, Science, and Commerce streams and offers two years of post-graduate in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations under Panjab University, Chandigarh. It also offers Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, and Add-On Certificate courses.
