Kavitha Memorial Degree and PG College, Khammam was established in 1991.

It has been managed by Sri Kavitha Educational Society. The college has been recognized by University Grants Commission.

1991 saw the dawn of Kavitha Memorial Degree College, a steady beginning that has culminated into a very successful one in the private sector. The concept of starting a modern, enlightened and progressive college of good standards was conceptualised by Sri Kavitha Educational Society whose primary vision lies in the provision of good and sound education to the students so that they turn out to be useful and sensible citizens of our country. Sri Kavitha Educational Society is registered under the Public Societies Registration Act 1350 (Act I of 1350 F) with Registration number 1119 of 1991.

KMDC is the first institution in Khammam district to introduce Computer Science as a subject undergraduate level. The same was subsequently followed by introduction of Statistics as an optional subject and then B.Com (CA), BA, BBA, Bsc (Physics), B.Sc (Electronics), B.Sc (Micro-Biology), B.Sc (Bio-Chemistry) and Bio-Technology Courses. We are introducing B.Sc (Data Sciences) and B.com (Business Analytics) in the AY 2020-21.

KMDC provides a modern, spacious and well-ventilated classrooms allied with other facilities as Laboratories, Library cum Reading Room, Ladies Waiting Room, and a big Computer Center. In tune with the changing academic Scenario, the college has established well equipped, Bio-Chemistry, and Bio-technology Laboratories, which are commended by many Visiting University Committees. In 1997, the college has been granted permanent affiliation status by Kakatiya University. Consequently the college has been recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) Under Section 2 (f) and 12 (b) of UGC Act in 1997. All of these enhanced our reputation and enabled us to obtain a name for quality education in the jurisdiction of kakatiya University.

The primary objective of the college lies in provision of good and sound education to the students so that they turn out to be useful and sensible citizens for the country.
