Kasturba Gandhi Degree & PG College for Women, Secunderabad was established on 7th September 1973 by the Osmania Graduate's Association and Exhibition Society (our Parent Bodies).

It is one of the 18 educational institutions started by these bodies. The campus is centrally located on 3.85 acres in Marredpally area of Secunderabad, with 17 Under Graduate departments and 4 Post Graduate Departments with a strength of 2828 students.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 2nd May 2005 under Act, 1956.

It is also recognized & approved by All India Council for Techincal Education (AICTE), New Delhi to offer MBA course and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.20 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 21st April 2012.

Since then, the college has come a long way adding block by block over the years in its sprawling campus, spread over 3.85 acres of land in centrally located Marredpally, Secunderabad.

In 1998 the college celebrated its Silver Jubilee, marking the occasion by laying the foundation for yet another building, the Silver Jubilee Block. Starting with a modest student strength of 175 in the year 1973, the college now has a strength of about 2,800 students(UG & PG) with 90 teaching faculty, 71 non-teaching faculties. The college imparts value-based education to women to meet the modern day challenges.

In addition to the conventional courses at the undergraduate level in Arts, Science, and Commerce, the college has introduced vocational courses with the support of UGC in B.Sc. with Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics and in B.Com.

with Tax Procedures and Practices.

To keep pace with changing times, the college has introduced Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetics and has also moved into the computer era by offering B.Sc. Computer Science and B.Com Computers. B.A with Mathematics, Economics, Statistics has been introduced in 2011.

The English, Commerce, and Science departments are equipped with excellent lab facilities. Post Graduate courses presently offered are MBA, M.Com, M.Sc(Mathematics) and M.Sc(Computer Sci.).

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management courses and offers two years postgraduate courses in Science, Commerce, & Management streams under Osmania University, Hyderabad. It also offers Add-On Courses.
