Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Kancheepuram was established in 2009.

Its Affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University.

KIMS occupies the sprawling area of 63 acres with independent RCC structures housing various educational, instructional, and Hospital areas along with allied necessary structures like boys and girls hostels, Hygenic canteens, Modernised Gymnasium etc.

The formation of the Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust was initiated by the philanthropic spurts exerted by Thiru S. Regupathy, former Minister for State for Home in association with a group of like -minded patrons who are best regarded for their bountiful services to the promotion of education.

The avowed objective of the Trust was to provide facilities for innovative higher education with vocational bias. Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences(KIMS) is a self-financing co-educational college dedicated to the training of medical doctors.

The College offers a 5year 6 month program of study leading to the M.B.B.S. The curriculum and school leadership are provided by M.G.R Medical University, Chennai.

The language of instruction is English. The KIMS mission is to provide a quality, affordable Higher medical education responsive to the needs of the community and accessible to all who can benefit from KIMS.

KIMS emphasize academic excellence and student success through a student-centered and innovative life-long learning environment for diverse population.
