Kampur College, Nagaon was established in 1967. It is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati.

The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956 and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "C++" Grade in 2005.

In 1967 a group of spirited and resolute young men, fresh from university. First decided among themselves that they would set up a college at Kampur.These youth divulged their plan to their friends, teachers (residing in the hostel of kampur H.S. & M.P. School) who in turn, not only welcome their dream project. But also pledged to finally stand by them.

In the meantime a coaching class consisting of male teachers and female students was started from July, 1967. To the satisfaction of all concemed, the executive council of Gauhati University accorded the much needed permission to start P.U arts class from the session 1968-69.

In fact with the Permission obtained from the Guahati University Kampur College, came in to existing setting sail on its voyage in to the future.

By now Kampur college has completed 48 years of its existence. At present the college imparts undergraduate (B.A.) level of education with facilities. For major courses in Assamese, English, Education, Geography, Economics, Political Science and History etc. under Gauhati University, Guwahati.

The college also has a Contact Centre of Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL), Gauhati University for PG courses. Besides this, the college is running a Study Centre of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOPU), Guwahat.

• To serve as an effective instrument of development in the path of education, progress and total awakening of the rural people.
• To remove the backwardness of the entire southern part of Nagaon District of Assam.

Rules & Regulations at Kampur College, Nagaon:

• It is compulsory for the students to wear the uniform while coming to the college. Students must wear their college ID cards in a visible manner at any time inside the campus
• Students must maintain an atmosphere of peace and observe strict silence in between class hours
• Every students is required to attend all the classes. Atlest 75% attendance is compulsory to qualify in the sessional examination
• Absentees must submit leave application duly signed by parents/ guardians to the principal
• Ragging is strictly prohibited both inside and outside the campus
• Students must not indulge in any kind of misconduct and indiscipline inside the college campus. Students should not damage the college property. Any student found guilty of damaging any property of the college shall be punished
• Students must keep their bicycles,bikes etc.in the area allotted for the purpose
• College campus is a NO SMOKING zone.spitting, writing and sticking any thing on the college property is strictly prohibited. Everybody must maintain cleanliness inside college
• The students are not allowed to use MOBILE PHONES within the college campus
