Kameshwar Prasad Singh College, Patna was established in 1983 as a response to the local need of a  higher educational institution.

In a meeting of local community which was held with the sole purpose of establishing a college, it was decided that since there was a crying need of a college so that students specially girls coming from nearby villages and belonging to marginalized farmers and economically poor families may become able to have an access to higher education.

But Land and building was the main problem which was solved as kameshwar Prasad Singh agreed to donate about 6 acres of precious land.

His only son Dr. G.S. Sharma donated around INR Two lakh at that time for building.

Therefore it was unanimously decided that college would be named as “Kameshwar Prasad Singh College â€.
