Kalimpong College (KC), Kalimpong was established in 1962. Its affiliated to North Bengal University.

This is a Co-education, affiliated college. The institute is situated in the midst of open, attractive scenery of nature. The calm, quiet serene situation is quite conductive to academic pursuits. 

In its 53 years of untiring service to Higher Education, the College has produced many alumni/alumnae who have gone on to become successful academicians, heads of educational institutions, teachers, administrators, lawyers, politicians, civil activists, literary figures, musicians, singers, actors, dramatists, sportsmen, businessmen and many more. Thus the College has played an immensely significant role not only in imparting higher education, but also in strengthening civil society, and guiding marginalized youths to become responsible citizens of the country. The alumni/alumnae are encouraged to remain connected to the College through the KALIMPONG COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (established in 2003). The Alumni Association works in close affinity with the college for its all round development.

The college is recognized by UGC under 2(f) & 12(b) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with B grade.

The College has well experienced teachers to enlighten the students. The college has state-of-the-art technologies and infrastructure.

The college is affiliated to North Bengal University, established in 1962 with a goal to disseminate knowledge to fulfill growing socio-economic and technical manpower needs in the six North Bengal districts and the neighboring state of Sikkim. This is a state university situated near Siliguri in Darjeeling district.

The University was established by Act of the Legislature of West Bengal in 1962.
