K.L.E. Society's Shri Shivayogi Murughendra Swamiji Arts, Science, and Commerce College, Athani (Dist. Belagavi) was established in 1968 under the management of KLE Society, Belagavi. 

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

It is affiliated with Karnatak University, Dharwad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B++" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.80 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 5th November 2016.

The first collegiate institution of KLE Society was established in 1932 in the form of the Lingaraj College which offered a degree in Arts. Subsequently, the Society established several colleges offering degree and post graduate courses in Science, Arts, and Commerce across Karnataka.

Recently, KLE has established a degree college at Mumbai. With nine of the Society’s colleges re-accredited at the “A” level by NAAC and three of them gaining autonomous status, the impetus has been provided for the introduction of innovative courses with the aim of adding value to conventional education and the incorporation of courses and interventions that facilitate skill development and consequently an enhanced employability.

Shri Shivayogi Murughendra Swamiji Arts, Science and Commerce College is a multi-faculty college, imparting education in the streams of Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management.

The institution has given priority to teaching and learning process. It has created a better teaching and learning environment in the campus through improved infrastructural and human resources.

The college has been providing basic facilities to the rural students of this area since its establishment.

The college campus is situated in a hilly landscape of 27 acres of land with the built up area of 2.5 acres with various amenities and a variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students in its various departments.
