K J Somaiya Medical College, Mumbai was founded 1991.

Its affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.

The college is managed by Padmabhushan (late) Pujya Shri.Karamshi Jethabhai Somaiya, an entrepreneur, philanthropist and a visionary. He was a self made man, wealthy yet simple, humble and compassionate, who dedicated his life to the service of mankind.

He was committed to the ideal of “What you receive from society, give back multifold â€. For relieving the sufferings of patients, he established Somaiya Medical College and Hospital in 1991, the manifestation and realization of his vision.

The sapling of medical college and hospital has grown over the years with addition of School of Nursing and College of Physiotherapy.  

K.J.Somaiya Medical College and Hospital are located on a 22 acre campus in the heart of Mumbai at Sion on Eastern Express Highway (Ayurvihar Complex) and are easily accessible by Public Transport.

The College admits 50 students every year for MBBS Course recognized by Medical Council of India and is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

It also offers Post Graduate course in Paediatrics. The Medical College has attached 550 bed teaching hospital, infrastructure and facilities required to impart quality medical education.
