K.J.Pandya College of Physiotherapy, Vadodara was started under the aegis of K.M.Shah Charitable Trust with affiliation of Gujarat University in 2001.

There college got new affiliation under Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University which came in existence in 2007. College of Physiotherapy is attached to Dhiraj general hospital, a 1088 bedded multi specialty teaching centre.

Care is provided to a multitude of patients by highly trained and experienced faculty under the specialties of Orthopedics & Traumatology, Neurology & Neuro Surgery, Cardiology & Pulmonology, Dermatology, General Medicine and Surgery, Paediatrics, Obs. & Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, and Radiology.

There is an abundance of referrals from all these specialties to the department of physiotherapy. Physical therapy students are trained in the clinical aspects of these by excellent faculty of SVU. Physical therapy department itself boasts of a diverse, highly skilled, trained and experienced team of specialist faculty, who are the alumni of some of the best physiotherapy institutes in India.  

Physiotherapy training was introduced in India in 1950s. This health service is one of the most popular and sought after treatment in western countries. Although it has been more than five decades since its inception in the country the awareness is only gradual but surely growing at fast pace.

It is quite certain that considering the population of the country and the number of therapist produced every year, the profession has a tremendous potential for development in coming years.

The physiotherapy department is highly spacious and equipped with state of the art instruments. The department is equipped enough to impart high quality patient care as well as carry out various researches including clinical trials.
