Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute, Thrissur a Christian Minority Institution, was established in 1951.

The Jubilee Mission Hospital, a Christain Minority Institution, was established in the year 1952 under the Canon Law by the Catholic Archdiocese of Trichur and was registered under the Charitable Organizations Welfate Act via Reg. No. 29/71 Over the years, the hospital experienced a steady growth and won faith in the hearts of many. The patients form neighbouring districts of Palakkad and Malapuram come here for quality treatment at affordable cost. In order to make the modern medical facilities available to common man, the Jubilee Mission Hospital was expanded to facilitate super speciality treatment as well as medical education and research.

In August 2001, the hospital and other related facilities were bought under the umbrella organization, the Jubilee Mission Hospital Trust, with the Archbishop of Trichur as its Patron and Chairman. Today, the JMH Trust, under the Archdiocese of Trichur owns and administers the Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute (JMMC & RI), together with its subsidiary units, namely, Jubilee Mission College of Nursing (JMCON), Jubilee Mission School of Nursing (JMSON) and Jubilee Mission College of Allied Health Sciences (JMCAHS).

Jubilee Mission Medical College Hospital and Research Institute is one of the pioneering institutions in Health Care and Education in South India. Following the Motto, 'Service with Love', Jubilee Mission concentrates on optimum care for the patients, irrespective of caste and creed. Lovingly called by the people of Thrissur, "Poor Man's Hospital". JMMCRI has an existential drive to uphold 'preferential option' for the poor and provide special considerations and concessions. Taking the mandate from Jesus Christ the Healer, Jubilee Mission serves the holistic welfare of patients and the society at large, responsing to the Need of Hour.

Imbibing the Catholic momentum in teaching, JMMCRI is equipped to impart high quality education in the Health Care.

The institute is running and managing a large number of medical organizations with a view to impart quality medical education to the students of Kerala.

The institute started its journey as a private hospital and it was the first and the only private hospital in Thrissur during the period of its inception.

The self financing medical college is affiliated to the University of Calicut.

The Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute (JMMCRI), Thrissur started the School of Nursing in the year 1966 with a view to impart nursing education to the students of Kerala.
