J.S.S. Dental College & Hospital, Mysore was established in 1986-87.

From 2008-09, it is affiliated to the Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University and present conducting BDS, Diploma, M.Sc and Ph.D. courses. The college is recognized by both the Dental Council of India and the Government of India.

Earlier it was affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka from 1996-97 and the college was affiliated to the University of Mysore from 1986-87.

J.S.S. Dental College & Hospital, Mysuru is an independent college imparting Graduate and Postgraduate courses in dentistry.

JSS Dental College & Hospital offers the undergraduate degree course, BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) with an annual intake of 100 students.

Sri Suttur Veerasimhasana Math was established by Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Bhagawathpadaru at Suttur in Nanjangud Taluk of Mysore district during the second half of the tenth century.

Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Maha Swamigalavaru the 23rd pontiff of Sri Suttur Veerasimhasana Math was the architect and founder of J.S.S. Mahavidhyapeetha, which was established in the year 1954.
