JSS College for Women (Autonomous), Saraswathipuram (Dist. Mysuru) was established in 1970 under the management of Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara (JSS) Mahavidyapeetha which was established in 1954.

It is one of the premier institutions established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to University of Mysore, Mysuru and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
 
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A+" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.51 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 5th November 2016.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the students. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

The college is renowned for the outstanding holistic education that they provide. As a college, they have a strong focus on student academic progress and achievement.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management streams with various kind of specializations under the University of Mysore, Mysuru. It also offers some Certificate & Add-On courses.
