Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College (JNEC), Aurangabad was established in 1983 under the aegis of Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust.

The college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.

Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College is a premier institute of engineering that has carved a niche for itself in the field of technical education in a very short span of time. The college has made its presence felt in the world of technical education.

Unique in its structure, methods and goals, the college is strongly rooted in the philosophy of training and research that enhances the relationship between knowledge and its application and seeks to promote the creation of an ideal society. The college also provides facilities for research leading to PhD in selected five subjects through its Research Center .JNEC provides a congenial atmosphere for diligent academic pursuits. This has been reflected through the results. Most of our students are among the toppers in various Engineering disciplines.

The JNEC is now a part of MGM University from the academic year 2020-21

The college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, which confers the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Master of Engineering (M.E.) in various disciplines and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.). The college also affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University,Lonere which confers the degree of Bachelor of technology (B.Tech.), Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in various disciplines and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.), Master of Architecture (M. Arch.). JNEC is the first college in Marathwada to have been accredited by NBA and Council of Architecture.
