Jawahar Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha’s College of Education, Gartad (Dist. Dhule) was established on 5th September 1986 and managed under Jawahar Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, Dhule which was established for the development of the rural area in 1982.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra on 21st August 1986 and started its first batch on 5th September 1986.

The college is affiliated with North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and it is also recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in 2000 under Act, 1956.

It is recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed course and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B++" Grade (in 1st Cycle) on 20th May 2005.

The society aims to "Enablement through Education" by engaging in teaching, research, service to the community, and economic development. The college strives to prepare lifelong educators and professionals to provide the necessary foundation for truly educated citizens.

The Jawahar Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha runs many schools and institutions like boarding school, Pre-Primary School, Primary School, Secondary School, Higher Secondary School, Vocational Course and College Of Education in Dhule Taluka Sanstha has 24 different Units.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

It is a co-educational private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Dhule played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) courses for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
