Janta Vedic College, Baghpat was established in 1917. It is premier institution of North India.
Janta Vedic College, Baghpat was first established as a High School on October 20, 1917 in a small township of Baraut surrounded by thickly populated villages thriving on highly fertile agricultural land. It was raised to intermediate, Undergraduate and Post-Graduate levels in 1940, 1949 and 1956 respectively. At present it is affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University Meerut and accredited by NAAC, Included in the list of colleges under section 12 (B) 2(F) of the UGC Act.
The College is located in a semi-urban area surrounded by rural area and committed to the education and development of the peasantry. College has a sprawling campus developed on 40 acres of land near a tributary of the Yamuna canal and protected by boundary walls. There are well-developed gardens, concrete roads lined with big shady trees, spacious playgrounds for games and sports, well-equipped gymnasium, hostels for boys and girls, guest house, residential staff quarters, canteen, library and a grand yagyashala for havan. There are tube wells for water supply, generators for power back up, college bus for tour and conveyance, and units of NSS, NCC and Rovers and Rangers. Its agricultures and dairy farms are equipped with tractor and other agricultural implements.
It has been imparting quality education in Arts, Science and Agriculture for over six decades making significant contribution to social, cultural, economical and intellectual development of the community. It is managed and maintained by the Jat Shiksha Sabha a registered and Its parent body.
Since its modest beginning as a Vedic High School in 1917, The college now imparts education in 12 subjects at UG levels, 17 subjects at PG level and undetakes research in 15 subjects for Ph.D. The college receives regular and special development grants from UGC and it is well equipped with WI-FI internet connection; INFLIBNET and other modern learning resoureces.
Modern teaching methods are used for class-room teaching.
The college has always been in an expansion mode to meet the increasing demand of vocational education, Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Botechnology and Bioinformatics are recently added self-financed vocational courses.

It name having "Vedic" in the middle - as if the world is engraved in its heart - seeks to remind one of the sacred Vedas as the storehouse of ancient wisdom and inspire its reflection in one's action, speech and service to the community. It imbibes Vedic values among students.
