About J.P. Pardiwala Arts & Commerce College
J. P. Pardiwala (Shri Jehangirji Pestonji Pardiwala) Arts & Commerce College, Valsad was established in 1981 by the Pardi Education Society.
It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) 13th December 1988 & 12(B) on 2nd November 1992 under Act, 1956.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.80 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 4th September 2010.
Shri Jehangirji Pestonji Pardiwala, the chief donor of this college, came from a poor parsi family. His father was a small farmer in a village called Samarpada in Pardi Taluka. Jehangirji”s school education was completed at Bai Awabai high school, Valsad.
He then went to Mumbai for the higher education. He served at many places before he started his own business. He was an ardent and sincere worker and honest, generous and God fearing man. He donated a large sum of money for the upliftment of rural students of Pardi Taluka.
The Society runs Pre-primary section, Middle School, High School and the College. It caters to the educational need of the surrounding area. The Society has received donations from Mumbai, Pardi and Valsad District.
The members of the society have the vision to serve and uplift the backward students and prepare them for self-help after graduation and post graduation.
The Pardi Education Society had long back envisioned the need for Computer Education and established the Computer Centre in 1995 on the college campus. The students of the college and Pardi taluka have benefited from the variety of courses offered at the center.The Education Society has its own website: www.peds.org.in
The college offers courses in Arts and Commerce.
- The college has an attractive, campus situated in secured and serene atmosphere suitable for learning
- The college has separate individual departments for all subjects with young, dynamic faculty and non-teaching staff and with good results
- The college has the most eminent Faculty members and they are really well qualified, experienced and truly committed towards enhancement and development of the students
- The institution is working with a shining sun, the spectrum which is radiating in all possible directions
- The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, canteen, seminar halls, multipurpose halls, playground & hostel etc.
- A sufficient number of classrooms with varying sizes are made available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college
- The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
- The college has a book bank for helping the poor and backward class students
- State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
- The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in 2009 and Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to assure the quality of the college
- The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
- Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- A multipurpose auditorium complex with facilities for large meetings, cultural programs, and indoor sports activities is under construction and is also being partially used for those purposes
- The college has got a large playground, Basket Ball court and facilities and equipment for different sports like Cricket, football, Volleyball, Hockey, badminton, Table tennis and so on
- A health care has been started in the college for the benefit of students and the local population. Two highly qualified Doctors weekly visit the center. Checkups are done and medicines are given free of costs
- State Government and the Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- The institute provides the training facility like- face to face interview, resume making, communication skills, that help the students to face the campus recruitment
- For every course, the college imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mold them into industry ready professionals
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college.
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
