J. D. Women's College, Patna was established in 1971 to foster the cause of education for women in the state of Bihar. College is a constituent unit of Magadh University, Bodh Gaya.

This institution is a multi faculty college, imparting teaching up to degree honours stage in Science and post-graduation stage in Arts.

The primary objective of the institute is to impart higher education to girls.
