Shri Shivaji Education Society J.D.Patil Sangludkar Mahavidyalaya, Daryapur (Dist. Amravati) was established in 1961 and managed under Shri Shivaji Education Society which was established in 1932 which is a registered body under society’s registration act 1876.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the Sant Gadage Baba Amravati University, Amravati and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. Formerly the college was affiliated with Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj University, Nagpur up to the year 1983.
 
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.25 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 10th December 2014

The aim of the college is inculcating gender equality in a rural area, social awareness, scientific temperament, cleanliness, awareness about environmental issues.

J.D.Patil Sangludkar Mahavidyalaya is one of the leading institutions imparting higher education in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, catering to the diverse needs of the present youth.

The college was started with broad objectives to offer higher educational facilities from 10+2 level to bachelor’s degree and post graduation to the rural students who basically remained socially, economically backward and disadvantaged group of society.

It is co-educational private institute, providing a regular course which is located in a rural part of Amravati played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. This college has awarded as the best college also got the award in the ranking of the 27th Best College.

The college was started with Arts and Commerce courses. Subsequently, in 1989 the facility of higher education in the faculty of Science is extended to the existing faculties of Arts and Commerce.

At present, the college offers two years intermediate courses in Arts & Commerce streams with various optional specializations under Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune.

The college also offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, & Commerce stream with various kind of specializations. It also offers two years postgraduate course in Arts stream with various specializations under Sant Gadage Baba Amravati University, Amravati. It also offers various UGC career oriented & Add-On courses.

The college has contact centre of Arts, Computer Diploma, and Certificate Courses under Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik. The courses were started from the academic year (2012-13).
