J.B. Shah Girls P.G. College, Rajasthan was established by, "Madan Lal Shah Education Society" in 1982.
At present, 'Smt. Mohari Devi Shah Charitable Trust' is running the institute.
The college is under the aegis of the University of Rajasthan and is governed by the extant rules and regulations of education department of the local state Government.
The College was established by the late patriarch Sh. Madan Lal Shah, a (retired) lawyer to promote women education in rural and semi urban areas in and around Jhunjhunu.
Initially the college began as an undergraduate college. But upgraded to a post graduate level in 1989.
The college got its registration under sec 12B and 2F of the UGC Act in the years 1989 & 1998 respectively.
The college has the rare distinction of being the first college in Shekhawati region to be accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC an independent council under U.G.C.).
