Institute of Pharmacy & Technology (IPT), Salipur was established in 1982.

The college is affiliated to the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela.

The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India(PCI) and are recognized by the government of Orissa.

There vision is to develop an institution of excellence for higher education, capable of functioning unfettered by the shackles of caste, creed, political dogmas and religious parochialism, for creation of professionals with high sense of ethical values and commitment to the society, to effectively contribute to and lead in the shaping of the nation.

The college aim is to impart quality professional / technical education to students, inculcating in them National / Global perspective, leadership attitude, entrepreneurship, co-operative spirit, cultured outlook, ethical values, social responsibilities and healthy habits so as to contribute to the technological, economical and social development of the Region, State and the Country.
