Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Srinagar was established in 1982 for training of candidates in the field of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition.

The Institute is affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) which is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

It was set up to provide trained manpower to the Hotel and Catering industry both in public and in private sector, the institute at Srinagar has been plying a vital role in producing trained manpower to meet the demands of this sector since its inception and is in continuing process.
