Indus International University (IIU), Una was established in 2009 by the Indus International University (establishment and regulation) act, with the right to confer degree as per sections 2f and 22 of the UGC Act 1956.

Indus International University (IIU) is set up by its Sponsoring Body - Kartha Education Society (Mumbai), which is a part of the Multinational Knowledgucate Group of Institutions, headquarters in the UAE.

Knowledgucate owns and oeprates a chain of playschools, K-12 Schools, Pre-University Colleges, Undergraduates and Post Graduates degree colleges as well as University in India. It also owns and operates educational institutions in the UAE and the United Kingdom besides programmes in the Online space.

Indus International University (IIU) has been established under Establishment and Regulation Act, 2009, of Himachal Pradesh Government with the right to confer degree as per sections 2f and 22 of the UGC Act 1956.

IIU has been set up as a non-for-profit institution with its primary objective of providing access to educational opportunities in various higher education areas in rural in India so that students need not travel to the other cities wherein the major public universities have been housed.
