Indore Christian College, Indore was established in 1887 by Canadian Mission and managed by Protestant Christian Minority community. Thus the college has been declared as a Religious Minority Institution by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

The aim of the college was endeavoring to use communication process that is eventually appropriate and promote the development of intellectuality, nationalism, secularism, and self-confidence in the students.

It is a co-educational government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Indore played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

At the time of its establishment in 1887, affiliation was secured with Calcutta University, Kolkata and college classes were started with only twelve students.

The main building of the college was completed in the year 1895, and it was formally opened by the Agent to Governor General of India, Colonel Barr on 22nd November 1895. Later in 1902 the college became affiliated with Allahabad University, Allahabad.

In 1927, the college became affiliated with Agra University, Agra and then with Vikram University, Ujjain and today within the jurisdiction of Devi Ahilya University, Indore.

In 1953, four new Post-graduate courses were introduced in the college, namely English, Hindi, Economics, and Sociology. The college started faculty of Commerce in the year 1974.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts and Commerce streams with various specializations under and five years of Law also offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts with various specializations Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

Admissions here also done through Govt. of M.P. online portal by the Department of Higher Education M.P. and hence gives a transparent and fair method of admission.
