About Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Kolkata
Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Kolkata was established in 1970 as a joint venture between IVRI (ICAR) and All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health (GOI), with WHO collaboration, to train specialists in veterinary public health, leading to the degree of MVPH of Kolkata University. The college is affiliated to Indian Veterinary Research Institute. The college conducts research activities related to important problems of veterinary public health and diseases of regional importance and undertakes systematic epidemiological survey and research on zoonotic and other animal diseases of importance in the region.
