Indian Institute of Business Management (IIBM), Patna was established in 1979 with the help of prominent academicians, social workers, philosophers, planners and administrators, management thinkers, educationists as an autonomous, non-profit making all India institute for training, research and studies in the areas of management, computer sciences, mass-communication, hotel & hospitality management. Institute is affiliated to Magadh University, Bodh Gaya and then PGDM program recognised by AICTE, New Delhi.

The main aim of IIBM is the establishment of an international network of centres of excellence for learning that supports the transformation of India into a compelling and dynamic nation, by attracting highly motivated professionals and entrepreneurs, facilitating the mobility of global talent and engaging them in value based productive, effective and innovative enterprise.
