Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur or IIHMR, Jaipur & was also known as IIHMR University, Jaipur is an Institute for Health and Hospital Management. Established in 1984 in Jaipur.

It is one of the premier institutions established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

IIHMR is the first of its kind in India, with attention solely focused on health systems management. Recognized by Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Finance and Government of India as a Research Institution.

The institute is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956 and accredited to International Hospital Federation (IHF), Switzerland & Association of University Programmes in Health Administration. It is also recognized & approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Apart from these, the institute has various branches available in the various location in India i.e. Kolkata, Delhi, & Bengaluru.

The origin of the IIHMR University has its roots in pioneering and significant contribution of Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Jaipur in the last three decades to policy and program management research, and capacity development in health and hospital management in India and South-East Asia, which has enabled it to attain the status of a university.

The IIHMR University has a mission to improve the standards of health through better management of health care and related programs through management research, education, training and institutional networking in a national and global perspective in the health sector.

The Institute undertakes training, research and consultancy in health management in close collaboration with international organizations such as UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO, World Bank, ODA, DANIDA, KFW & GTZ, NORAD, CARE and USAID. Working for Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (GOI), Planning Commission, Indian Council of Medical Research, state governments and others. International Linkages collaborated with University of North Carolina, USA to offer masters program to candidates from South-Asia.

Goals & Aims:

• To develop a strategic plan for establishing a Center for Injury Research at The IIHMR University, Jaipur
• To train a critical mass of scientists, health professionals, and academics in the principles of injury prevention and control research
• To initiate research on injury epidemiology, interventions and program implementation strategies to prevent and minimize the burden of injuries in India
• To raise awareness and facilitate dialog among public health professionals as well as the general public in India about the importance of injury research in India
• To foster collaboration among injury researchers and other stakeholders within India and establish linkages with the global injury research community
