Ideal College of Arts & Sciences was established in 1974, one of the premier institutions in Kakinada with noble cause of serving people through education.

 The Society got permission from the government in 1970 for a Junior College and 1974 for the opening of the Degree College.

The College is affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and  All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

The College is an autonomous college that has been duly recognized for its services by AP State Government, AP State Council for Higher Education, Andhra University, UGC and various prestigious Institutions.

The Ideal College of Arts & Sciences (A), Kakinada has become the first Andhra Pradesh State Government Aided College in east Godavari district to secure NAAC with 'B' Grade accreditation and autonomous status.

Motto:The motto of the institution is "Vidya Darsaha - Viswa Sreyaha" .
