ICLES Motilal Jhunjhunwala College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Mumbai was established in 1984 and managed by India Culture League Education Society (ICLES), which was established in 1975.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

It is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, Mumbai on 29 March 2005 and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 21st March 2005 under Act, 1956.
 
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.05 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 9th June 2017.

The aim of the college is to create a culture that provides lifelong learning opportunities to all members of the society.

India Culture League Education Society is one of the leading institutions imparting higher education in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, catering to the diverse needs of the present youth.

India Culture League (ICL) which was established in 1942 actively promoted the Arts, Music, Drama, Dance, Sports and Education then later ICL entered the educational field in 1975 with the formation of India Culture League Education Society” (ICLES).

The institution runs two education section for the students.

• Junior college
• Senior College

The ICL Junior college was started in 1978 while the degree college was started in 1984. In 1998 under the able leadership of Shri R.S. Jhunjhunwala, the college was renamed as “ICLES’ Motilal Jhunjhunwala College”.

It is co-educational private institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of Mumbai played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. the campus is located in another city also has a different name of institutions.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college has been introduced with latest developments in the field of industry and their requirements, the courses in Biotechnology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting and Finance, Banking & Insurance and Management Studies have been introduced.

At present, the college offers two years intermediate courses in Arts, Science, & Commerce streams with various optional specializations under Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune.

The college also offers three years undergraduate & two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management streams with optional specializations under the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. It also offers Self-Financing, Doctorate, & Add-On Certificate courses.
