Indian Academy Degree College - Autonomous (IADC-A), Bengaluru Urban was established on 5th August 1994. It is one of the constituent parts of the Indian Academy Group of Institutions (IAGI) which was established by Dr. Thummala Somasekhar, who is a visionary academician and a dynamic leader.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru. It is recognized by Government of Karnataka and University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 13th May 2011 & 12(B) 4th June 2013 under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.27 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on  February 2016.

• Indian Academy Pre-University College (IAPUC) - Affiliated with Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka and recognized by Government of Karnataka
• Indian Academy College of Nursing (IACN) - Affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. It is recognized by Karnataka Nursing Council, Indian Nursing Council, & Government of Karnataka
• Indian Academy School of Management Studies (IASMS) - Affiliated with Banglore University, Bengaluru. It is recognized & approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi & Government of Karnataka
• Indian Academy Evening College (IAEC) - Affiliated with Banglore University, Bengaluru and recognized by Government of Karnataka
