HTTI Government Hindi Teachers' Training Institute, Cuttack was established in 1956 and managed by at the Government.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Directorate of Teacher Education and State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Bhubaneswar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is also recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhubaneswar.
The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.
It is a co-educational government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Cuttack played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The history of college which had been imparting Hindi Training named Hindi Teachers Training Certificate Course examination to untrained in-service Hindi Teachers of the State.
But it was defunct along with another two Hindi Teachers’ Training College, which was opened in Bhubaneswar & Sambalpur by the Government on 27th June 2002.
But in pursuance of the decision taken in the meeting chaired by the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Odisha on 06th September 2005.
The erstwhile Hindi Training Institute, Cuttack revived and started function in the premises of the above said Hindi Training Institute, Cuttack with effect from 26th September 2005.
The college was opened as in Secondary Schools of Odisha State then later it was decided that another separate attempt would be made to start one Year Hindi Teachers Training Course equivalent to B.Ed.
Degree.
On the basis of the decision taken in two High-Level Meetings, School & Mass Education Department, Govt. of Odisha notified an Office Memorandum on 17th June 2006 to upgrade the Hindi Teachers’ Training Certificate Course to higher degree Course i.e. Bachelor of Hindi Education (B.H.Ed) in the year 2008-09.
The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
The college also offers two years Bachelor of Hindi Education (B.H.Ed) to the students which is affliated under Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.
A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at HTTI Government Hindi Teachers' Training Institute, Cuttack in its various departments.
