In the 2022 Ranking List, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked us in the 151-200 band in the overall category. Under the university category we were placed in the band between 101-150. The framework also ranked us in 152nd position under the engineering institutions. Our Architecture programme was achieved the top 27th position and the School of Management was placed between the band of 102-125. The OBE Rankings 2022, R World Institutional Ranking, conferred Gold Band with A Grade for being a Higher Educational Institution of Excellence. Times Engineering Institutes Ranking Survey ranked HITS at #3 among the top Engineering Institutes in Tamil Nadu. The Institution also achieved Excellence in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering in the survey.

A yet another feather was added when Hindustan achieved 22nd rank among the top Technical Universities in the India by India Today - India’s Best Universities.

The QS I- GAUGE recognised HITS with the QS Advanced E-Learning Excellence for Academic Digitisation by incorporating advanced digital technology in education and best online academic practices award. Outlook ICARE Rankings 2022 placed Hindustan at the 15th position among the top 100 Private Engineering Institutions in India. Also, Outlook-ICARE India's Best B Schools-2022 ranks Hindustan in the position 5th among the top B-Schools in Chennai; 18th among the top 34 B-Schools from South Zone and 5th among the Top 10 B-Schools from Tamil Nadu. Hindustan’ B-School was ranked among the 158 B-Schools in India under the following categories by Open Magazine 2022 Ranking: i) 112th position in India; ii) 86th rank among the top 128 private B-Schools; iii) 27th rank among the top 45 B- Schools in South India; iii) 8th rank among top 12 B-Schools in Tamil Nadu; and iv) 5th rank among the top B-Schools in Chennai.

We also participated in the Global Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2022 and achieved an overall rank between 400-600. The following Sustainable Development Goals were achieved: i) SDG6 – Rank 101-200 in Clean water and sanitation, and awarded 64.8 percent metric scores for Research on Water and overall worldwide 85.8%; ii) SDG 7 - Rank 401-600 and awarded 61.8% metric scores for University measures towards affordable and clean energy; iii) SDG12 - 33 Rank in Responsible Consumption and Production, and awarded 70.2% metric scores in Operational measures; iv) SDG17 - 401-600 in Partnership for Goals with a metric score of 66.7% in Education for the SDGs parameter that indicates the vision of the institution towards sustainable development goals in line with United Nations SDG and its contribution as Higher Education Institution. HITS have been consistent in SDG17 rankings.
