Hindu Girls College, Sonepat was established on 1st July 1982 is being run under the aegis of Sonepat Hindu Education and Charitable Society headed by Sh. Arun Aggarwal. The Society has been active since 1914 and today has 17 institutions under its umbrella.

It is one of the premier institutions established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is at present affiliated with Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 5th June 1990 under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B++" Grade - (CGPA 81.8% in 1st Cycle) on 31st March 2003.

Hindu Girls College was started as a girls wing of Hindu College, Sonepat in 1958 with the intention of extending education to girls of the region. It acquired a separate entity in 1982.

The mission of the college is to Spread Education and Awareness to the Remotest Corner and the vision is Women Empowerment. To achieve this we are going from strength to strength.

It enjoys a pride of place amongst the educational institutions of NCR and is one of the most sought after institutions for inculcating the right values while making the girls techno-savvy.

Every year more than 2300 students pass out as conscientious, determined, noble and disciplined citizens. The college provides a home away from home for those hailing from remote areas. It can boast of a safe, airy and spacious hotel providing comfortable accommodation to 450 girls.

The college imparts education in all the three disciplines:

• UG in Arts, Science, and Commerce.
• Vocational courses- BCCA, B.Sc. (Comp. Sc.), B.Sc.(Bio Tech), BBA, BCA
• PG in Economics, Sanskrit, Mathematics, English and Geography, and Commerce.
• PG diploma in Computer Applications.
• PG in Chemistry and Physics was introduced in the session2013-14.

The session 2013-14 started on 16th July 2013 with Mr. OS Dahiya as then Principal who passed on the baton to Dr. RK Gupta from the (Department of Physics) of Hindu College Sonepat when he was duly selected as a regular Principal.

The college faculty comprises 97 members out of which as many as 49 are Ph.Ds and M.Phils. The faculty is supported by a diligent team of 60 technical and non-technical employees.

The staff members are always in pursuit of excellence and update themselves regularly in their fields by pursuing further studies, attending Seminars and Workshops and presenting research papers.
