Himalayan Institute of Pharmacy & Research, Dehradun was established by Azad Educational Society. Azad Educational Society was established and registered in September 1991.

Its affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University.

The mission of the HIPR, Lucknow is to contribute to the understanding of the development of civilization by fostering the creation, preservation and dissemination of knowledge concerning the history and related humanistic aspects of the pharmaceutical field.

Himalayan Institute of Pharmacy & Research, Dehradun is approved & recognised by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Uttaranchal Technical University.

The Society was founded by motivated engineers with ambition to setup a network of educational instituitions through the nation to tame the social, educational and intellectual level of young Minds.

The Board of Directors involves highly motivated and qualified engineers, working together to raise the standard of institute high, so that the students being educated here may become proficient in the fundamental principles of science and pharmacy to meet the needs of the nation and the world.
