Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology - Calicut was established in 1995 and managed by International Congregation of Holy Cross Sisters, Switzerland.

The Holy Cross Sisters Society was founded in Switzerland in 1856 by a young dynamic visionary - Fr. Theodosius Florentini OFM Cap, who was titled by the Swiss Government as the teacher of the youth and a great philanthropist.

It is one of the premier institute established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The institute is affiliated with University of Calicut, Malappuram.

The aim of the institute was Trained candidate as professionals in the field of Hospitality, Fashion Design, Commerce and Management, Social Work and English Literature with Journalism.

It is a co-educational self-financed Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Calicut played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The Holy Cross Society in India has been serving the citizens of our country since 1894 in the fields of sustainable developments.

The areas of our service are Social welfare:  Social service, Social Work,  Agricultural research- (KVK) Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Health Care, Empowerment of Women, Hostels, Legal Aid Cells and Residence for Tribal Students. Education: College, Schools, Nursing College, Vocational Training etc. Works of Mercy: Orphanages, Homes for the Aged, AIDS Patients' Rehabilitation Centers. Residential education for mentally and physically challenged.

At the initial stage only Diploma Courses were offered- Modern Secretarial Practice and Diploma in social work and counseling which were recognized by Govt. of India - MHRD. And in 2002 the Institute of Hotel Management and Fashion Designing began with Diploma courses.

In 2007-2008 Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology obtained affiliation from the University of Calicut, Malappuram for the following courses - M.S.W., B.Sc.

Hotel Management and Catering Science, B.Sc. Costume and Fashion Designing, and B.Com. with Computer Application.

In 2012-2013, The institute obtained affiliation from the University of Calicut, Malappuram, and NOC from Government of Kerala for M.Sc. Apparel Design and Technology, M.Com. with Finance, B.B.A. and B.A. English with Journalism.

The institute had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the University of Calicut, Malappuram.

The institute offers three years undergraduate courses and offers two years of postgraduate course in Arts, Commerce, Science and Management streams with various specializations under the University of Calicut, Malappuram. It also offers Diploma and  Add-On Certificate courses.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the University of Calicut, Malappuram, and various other examinations are held in the institute premises.
