Hawabagh Women’s College, Jabalpur was popularly known as H B College, Jabalpur was a Christian Minority Institution established on 1st July 1928 and had acquired its name from its locale - Hawabagh.

The college was managed by Methodist Church in India presently known as Governing Body of the Educational Institutions of Madhya Pradesh Regional Conference of the Methodist Church in India.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 31st January 1994 under Act, 1956. 

It is also recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed. & M.Ed. courses.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B+" Grade (CGPA Score 2.54 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 16th September 2016.

The aim of the college was drawing out the best in body, mind, and spirit of its students also emphasis on the ideal of high moral standards honesty, truthfulness and on the achievement of true scholarship.

Also, the main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

It is a co-educational self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Jabalpur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college provides a high standard of multidisciplinary education at the undergraduate, Postgraduate levels like Educational, General, Technical, and Profesional.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, and Education streams with various specializations and offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, and Education with various specializations Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

The admission process of the college is absolutely fair and transparent based on the guidelines provided by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.
