Harishchandrapur College(HC), Malda was established in 2008. Its affiliated to Gour Banga University.
Harishchandrapur College was established in 2008 to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of the people of Harishchandrapur and the surrounding areas and to meet their long voiced demand for higher studies. Affiliated to the University of Gour Banga, this govt. aided college started its journey on 18th August, 2008 in Pipla High School where classes were taken in the morning. A small building of its own was set up within the two years of its genesis in a calm and quiet natural ambience beside Harishchnadrapur Chanchal Highway (NH) 81. The lush green landscape surrounding the college is a treat to one’s visual senses. Despite facing several constraints and weaknesses, the Teacher-in-Charge, Teaching Staff and Non-teaching staff strive their level best for the all round development of the college. The college strives for a high standard through a dedicated, involved and committed Staff.
This is a renowned Arts college in this region. The college is leading a important role to promote value based education especially to the financially backward students. All academic activities are carried out in accordance with the prescribed syllabi, examination schedules and academic calendar of the Gour Banga University. The college has state-of-the-art technologies and infrastructure.
The College comes under the University of Gour Banga, established in 2008 and situated in Malda. This is a State University established under the West Bengal Act XXVI 0f 2007. The mission of the university is to pursue excellence in education and professional competence. Along with an excellent academic ambience, the emphasis here is on quality education through various teaching aids and over all development of the students.
The University is approved by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The University is fully funded by the Govt.
of West Bengal.
