G.S. College of Commerce & Economics, Jabalpur is an Autonomous College was also popularly known as Govindram Seksaria College of Commerce & Economics, Jabalpur in 1948 and managed by Shiskha Mandal which was established in 1914.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is also recognized & approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi to offer B.Ed. course.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (in 2nd Cycle) on 10th March 2012.

The aim of the college was to provide every student with a pleasant environment suitable to achieve their career goals with special importance in personality development and quality education in all sphere of activities without compromising on the quality and code of ethics.

It is a co-educational private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Jabalpur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

With the benevolent charity of the famous industrialist Seth Govindram Seksaria the dream was realized in 1942 with the establishment of G.S. College in 1940 at Wardha, in 1945 at Nagpur and in 1948 at Jabalpur.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Commerce, and Management streams with various specializations and offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts and Commerce with various specializations under Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.

It also offers Postgraduate Diploma courses.

The college also offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

Admissions here also done through Govt. of M.P. online portal by the Department of Higher Education M.P. and hence gives a transparent and fair method of admission.
