About Govt. P.G College, Bhel
Govt. P.G College, Bhel (Dist. Bhopal) was established in 1984 by the Hon Chief Minister of M.P Shri Arjun Singhji and managed by Jan Bhagidari Samiti (JBS) & Navaratna Company BHEL.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with Barkatullah University, Bhopal and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B++" Grade.
The sole aim of reaching education to the rural and industrial masses and situated on the outskirts of the city of lakes Bhopal, the college now can boost of coming a long way in the path of development of education.
It is a co-educational government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Bhopal played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
This is the only Government College providing educational facilities to the mushrooming satellite colonies in and around BHEL. This only indeed makes the college always in popular demand for the students of this area.
The college continues to get infrastructural assistance from BHEL apart from financial assistance from UGC and State Govt.
The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, and Commerce streams and two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations under Barkatullah University, Bhopal. It also offers Post-graduate Diploma and Add-On courses.
University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Barkatullah University, Bhopal and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
Admissions here also done through Govt. of M.P. online portal by the Department of Higher Education M.P. and hence gives a transparent and fair method of admission.

- The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies
- The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
