Govt. Nehru P.G. College, Deori (Dist. Sagar) was established on 1st August 1973 by the contribution of Dr. Dwarka Prasad Katare and managed by Jan Bhagidari Samiti (JBS). Later the college became Autonomous and undertaken by Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundel Khand University, Chhatarpur formerly affiliated with Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 21st August 1989 & 12(B) on 25th August 1992 under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "C++" Grade (in 1st Cycle) on 31st March 2007.

The aim of the college was to prepare students for industry and employment, but also to contribute to the corpus of thought and knowledge, to contemplate the life of the mind, without which evolution is not possible. 

It is a co-educational government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the semi-urban part of Sagar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundel Khand University, Chhatarpur.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations and two years of a postgraduate course in Arts and Commerce with various specializations under Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundel Khand University, Chhatarpur.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundel Khand University, Chhatarpur and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

Admissions here also done through Govt.

of M.P. online portal by the Department of Higher Education M.P. and hence gives a transparent and fair method of admission.
