Govt. Kamla Raja Girls Post Graduate (Autonomous) College Gwalior was established on 1st July 1937 and managed by jab Bhagidari Samiti (JBS).

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Jiwaji University, Gwalior and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 1st July 1972 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.03 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 2nd December 2016.

The aim of the college was to facilitate and promote studies, research and extension work in the emerging area of higher education with the expansion of women education.

It is a women's government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Gwalior played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college was elevated to the postgraduate level in 1970 and autonomous status was conferred on it on 26th May 1995. Also in recognition of its significant achievements, the UGC and the state government granted autonomy to the college in 1996.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, and Law streams with various specializations and two years of a postgraduate course in Arts, Science, and Commerce with various specializations under Jiwaji University, Gwalior. It also offers Postgraduate Diploma courses.

The college also has a contact centre under Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi to offer UG, PG, & Add-On Certificate courses through distance mode.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Jiwaji University, Gwalior and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

Admissions here also done through Govt. of M.P. online portal by the Department of Higher Education M.P. and hence gives a transparent and fair method of admission.
