Government Ripudaman College, Nabha (Dist. Patiala) was originally established in 1946 at Lahore as an Inter College. After partition, the college was shifted to Solan and then to Patiala. Later it was turned into Degree College.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala formerly affiliated with Punjab University, Chandigarh and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.41 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 1st May 2015.

The aim of the college was imparting higher education to a predominantly rural population, socially and educationally weaker sections of the society, and to promote the Punjabi Language.

It is a co-educational government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Patiala played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Punjabi University, Patiala.

The college offers two years intermediate courses in Science streams with various specializations under Council of Higher Secondary Education, Mohali.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management streams and offers two years of post-graduation in Arts and Science streams with various specializations under Punjabi University, Patiala. It also offers Post Graduate Diploma and Add-On Certificate courses as well.
