Government Polytechnic, Jhansi was established in 1958. Initially this institute started its academic session in three disciplines Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. In the year 1971, the institute started diploma course in Automobile Engineering, in the year 1972, diploma course in Electronics Engineering and later in the year 1993 diploma in Computer Application was also added in the curriculum. On the whole this institute is running with six discipline. Campus of Government Polytechnic - The institute is situated on the Jhansi Gwalior Road. The institute acquires 103.47 acres of land till 3 rd March 1958, out of which 15 acres land transferred to industrial state, 3.47 acres to railway, and 15 acres to Government Girls Polytechnic and 2.42 acres to the Joint Director Technical Education. After transferring it has net 67.58 acres of land.
