Government Polytechnic College, Bhikhiwind was established in 1996 by the Punjab Government as a co-educational institute.

The courses offering at the college are duly approved by AICTE and the college is affiliated to the Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh.
