Government Medical College (GMC), Surat was established in 1964.

The college is affiliated to the South Gujarat University and the college has also got recognition from a number of medical bodies. 

The college is considered to be one of the prominent medical institutions in the state.

The college has earned significant fame since the college inception and has been working relentlessly for providing medical education to the students in Gujarat.

The college is approved by Medical Council of India (MCI). The Government Medical College (GMC), Surat offers many courses in different fields of medical science and the courses are offered at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
