Government Medical College (GMC), Aurangabad was established in 1956.

The College is recognised by Medical council of India (MCI), New Delhi. The College is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences ,Nashik.

The College has been providing medicinal services to the people of Marathwada region round the clock for the 50 years.

The College has as excellent training centre for young medical doctors, nurses, and DMLT students in the art & Science of medicine.

The hospital of the college is  started with 300 beds in 1960 is presently equipped with 1050 beds.

The special facilities available are ICCU, MICU, PICU, CT SCAN, Radiotherapy unit, Lithotripsy unit, Cancer surgery, Plastic surgery, Paediatric surgery,Dialysis unit, Blood components separation system & CD4 count etc.

The graduates from the institute are highly placed & are catering medical services in various fields in India & abroad.
