Government Dental College and Hospital, Vijayawada was established in 1992.

by Government of Andhra Pradesh. The College is affiliated to Dr. N. T. R. University of Health Sciences and approved by Dental Council of India.

The College functioned in two places. Main Dental Hospital along with administrative block (about 24, 000 sq. ft.) was at Old Bus stand premises and the pre clinical depts. (16,000 sq.ft) were functioning at Govt.

Siddhartha Medical College, Gunadala, Vijayawada which are about 6 Kms. distance. During the year 2008, the College was shifted to a new campus building in Machavaram (Gunadala) Vijayawada.

The total area of the new building is around 70, 000 sq.ft. which is housing main Dental Hospital, along with clinical and pre clinical depts., administrative block, Lecture Halls and Library.
