Government Degree College, Akbarpur was founded by Sri Moti Lalji Bora in 1996. The College started Arts Faculty in 1999.

The students are still demanding from upgraduation and inclusion of PG Courses in Arts and for new faculty in commerce and  science. Which helps them in betterment of the Institution.

The College is affiliated to Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur.

The college has ample space as playground. Student enjoy Badminton, Vollyball and cricket. NSS Units are active in the college Campus.

Various activities undertaken under the banner of  make to boom the campus environment.

A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at Government Degree College Akbarpur in its various departments.
