Government Commerce College, Kota was established in 1978.

The college came into existence with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of commerce, to the people of the region.

The college of commerce is affiliated to University of Kota. Government Commerce College is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The college offers courses in the field of commerce at undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels - Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Master of Commerce (M.Com). The college may develop a mechanism to develop linkage with the local industry. A mechanism to obtain feedback from academic peers and employees may be developed.

The academic auditing of the college may be done by the university to improve the academic environment of the college.

The Commerce College is the only one single mono faculty Government College of Rajasthan Government from which the people expect higher standards of education as compared to other colleges where such faculty is one of the parts of the total college academic fraternity.

The College has adequate land area i.e.; 25 acres and enough rooms to accommodate students, teachers and administrative staff. The infrastructure needs to be maintained and utilized in a better way.

The surroundings may be cleaned and developed.The college may like to consider the introduction of the audio-visual aids, and the computer aided teaching -learning to translate its vision of imparting quality and career oriented education for its students.
